This is OG-108 flannel shirt, from the US Army. First issued in the early 1950s during the Korean War, they were made until the late 1980s I believe. It’s the less known cousin of the OG-107 uniform but for colder climates. The OG-107 shirt (and pants) became iconic because of the Vietnam War and the protests against it, and the hippie movement. It’s a huge example of using military garments as a symbol of peace, and the appropriation of establishment symbols by a counter-culture.
This is basically the same but made with flannel instead of cotton sateen.
✨Cheat sheet✨ (OG = Olive Green)
- OG-108 : thicker, wool/poly flannel. (This one). Does not really fade.
- OG-107 : thiner, 100% cotton sateen. Will fade to light green.
- OG-507 : same as OG-107 but newer and made with a poly/cotton sateen.
The OG-108 shirt is made with a thick wool and polyester flannel, it’s warm and comfortable but still breathable. And because it was made for military purposes, its super easy to maintain : just throw it in the washing machine ! The cool thing is you can wear it all year round, as a shirt or over shirt for late nights during the summer.
It does not much military details like shoulder straps, a lot of big pockets or gold buttons so it’s easy to style even for someone who does not usually wear vintage military.
Simple yet interesting design and « rich » olive green color are my two favorite things about these shirts.
Excellent condition. Some have different tags or markings, and some have their tags removed.

Exactly as told in the description. Sturdy, but not stiff at all, which was something I was worried about. Boxy in the best way, the buttons & the seams are excellent quality, as is the whole thing. the measurements exactly as described, if you follow the measurements and advice there, you'll find the right size. Can't go wrong with this shop.
