Olive green rain jacket made in the 1950s in France by the brand « J. Pauwels et Compagnie »
This brand used to make a lot of gear for the French army back then, this rain jacket is heavily inspired by a military one they were producing at the time, known to be issued massively during the Indochine war.
Compared to the military ones this one doesn’t have shoulders straps and have civilian labels.
100% cotton with a water repellant treatment, not super effective in today standards but pretty good for the 1950s. Hence the additional piece of fabric on the shoulders, for more rain protection.
Deadstock, I didn’t wash them to not alter the water repellant treatment, so they might have some small dirt stains due to storage. But overall amazing condition considering their age.
